Christine's areas of specialization include, but are not limited to:
Equal Employment Opportunity
Provides charge defense and related litigation at the agency level and before federal courts in jury and non-jury proceedings under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Equal Pay Act and the Congressional Accountability Act (CAA).
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Provides wage and hour advice so as to avoid, investigate and resolve claims by employees or the Department of Labor. Christine also represents clients in federal court proceedings under the FLSA.
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Provides advice to employers with regard to the challenging issues surrounding the FMLA, including whether an employee is qualified, how much leave is permitted and what happens when an employee returns.
State Laws
Christine is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia state bars and represents employers in claims brought pursuant to the D. C. Human Rights Act, the Virginia Human Rights Act and other state and local statutes.
Administrative Law
Serves as an advocate on behalf of her clients in administrative law proceedings and challenges.
Christine also advises on hiring, discipline and termination issues, employment contracts, non-compete agreements, termination agreements and preventive measures to protect employers from claims of wrongful discharge. She drafts employee handbooks for each client, dependent on the specific and unique needs of each, as well as other policies and procedures.
